All about Los Angeles City Government and it’s Structure

A while back, when I really started getting involved in city governance issues and realized how important city government is in impacting our lives — from public education to safer streets, from public parks to public libraries,  from clean streets and a prosperous local economy — I realized it was very important to understand as much as possible about how the system worked.

The League of Women’s Voters put out an amazing PDF that explains in detail the structure of Los Angeles government and the history behind it.

This should be a required crash course for anyone wanting to get involved, or anyone living in LA for that matter. How this city is run affects all of us that live in Los Angeles.

Without further ado, here’s the PDF, you can view it and download it as you wish.

Rich Goodman officially on the Ballot for March 8th, 2011

Thank you to everyone that volunteered countless hours going door-to-door knocking on houses, talking to anxious voters and neighbors about the coming elections and getting petitions signed.

This letter just came in from the City of Los Angeles. We are officially on the ballot! Let’s keep it moving!

Also, the great news is that we are #1 on the ballot. There was a random drawing just this week to determine the order of the names on the ballot.

Rich Goodman / Small Business Entrepreneur is in position one. How cool is that?
